For nearly two decades, the Webelos Transition Day has been an annual tradition for Scouts BSA Troop 800 and the surrounding community.  Since the closing of our former camp in Powhatan, VA, the Sharon Parsons Foundation in Cumberland, VA, has generously offered Camp Parsons, their new 22-acre multi-purpose youth camp to host this event.

Each year, in conjunction with the Heart of Virginia Council and Huguenot Trail District, Scouts BSA Troop 800 has invited the rising Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts from the surrounding areas to Camp Parsons in Cumberland, VA, to experience what it is like for these boys and girls to be a Scout for a day. The main purpose of this event is to keep these Scouts interested, introduce potential new Scouts and get them excited about the transition to becoming a Scout.  Once again, this event is open to boys AND girls who are Webelos or Arrow of Light Scouts and their siblings.

If you would like, you are welcome to come out Friday night and camp with us.  If you want to do this, please select the Friday & Saturday option at the bottom of the online registration form.

This is a FREE event for everyone who registers online before 10/14/21. 

There will be a $5/person charge at the gate for those who do not register online prior to the event.  ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES @ 5pm on October 14th, 2021.

Lunch will be provided to REGISTERED attendees.

Remember -- ALL attendees must register individually.

During this event, Webelos and AOL Scouts will get to participate or view demonstrations at various stations including:

• Archery Range
• BB Gun Range
• Camp Cooking
• Fire Building
• Knife Safety
• Wrist Rockets/Slingshots
• Shotgun Range*
• Tomahawk Range*
• Woodworking Shop
• Other events to be determined

* Due to Scouts BSA safety regulations, Shotgun Range and Tomahawk Range are demonstrations only for Webelos and AOL Scouts.  However, adults accompanying scouts are welcome to participate in these events if/when available.

If you are a member of another Scouts BSA Troop and would like to participate in this event, help man the activity stations and present information about your Troop, please register below and contact Scoutmaster Rodney Parsons at 804-514-8880 as soon as possible to confirm your participation.  This is an event to keep boys and girls in the Scouting program no matter what Troop they decide to join.

Due to insurance requirements, ALL attendees including adults MUST register individually.  NO EXCEPTIONS!
