Scouts BSA Troop 800 is happy to offer Mulch Spreading as a service, to be completed by the boys of the Troop and their families.
For $1.75/bag, they will come to your home and spread the mulch you have purchased in your flower beds, around trees, in playgrounds or wherever else you want it to go. In return, this money goes directly into a special account specifically for the boys doing the work, which they are allowed to use for anything Scouting related, including paying for Summer Camp, High Adventure trips, etc., so your support of this endeavor is GREATLY appreciated by everyone involved. These boys are trying to EARN their way, which is a very valuable lesson in today's world.
Please make out your payment to BSA Troop 800.
Please note, the mulch spreading service DOES NOT include cleaning any part of your property of debris prior to spreading the mulch.
On average, we are delivering around 30,000 bags of mulch in an 8 hour period and we simply do not have the time or energy that weekend to do any spreading.
If you would like the boys of Scouts BSA Troop 800 to spread your mulch, please click on the link below, fill out the form and you will be contacted to schedule a time.
Kroger's Community Rewards Program will donate a percentage of your in-store purchases to the charitable organization of your choice -- hopefully BSA Troop 800. All you have to do to make this happen is link your Kroger Plus Shopper's Card to the Troop's account. This costs you nothing. Your spending is 100% confidential and this program DOES NOT affect your earnings toward fuel program discounts.

September 16-18, 2016 -- Camp Justis - Powhatan, VA | Capital Bike Trail - Henrico, VA
This month's campout was originally scheduled to be whitewater rafting at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. However, after the unexpected death of a park visitor due to a brain-eating amoeba, the whitewater portion of the park was closed back in June. Out of an abudnance of caution, we decided to scrap those plans altogether and go with a backup.
September 10, 2015 -- The Boulders - Richmond, VA
As part of our community involvement, BSA Troop 800 served as the Honor Guard for the opening ceremony of the Amazing Raise 5K at the Boulders at the request of the race's organizers. Eagle Scout Eric Miller provided services as a race volunteer, while Life Scout Steven Russotti and Star Scout James Bright handled the honor guard duties. For more information on The Amazing Raise 5k at the Boulders, please visit their website at http://www.amazingraise5k.org.
July 18-25, 2015 -- Camp Raven Knob - Mt. Airy, NC
Another July and another summer camp is behind us. For the first time in a few years, BSA Troop 800 returned to Camp Raven Knob in Mt. Airy, NC for summer camp. With 43 boys going this year, we had nearly 100% attendance for the troop.
June 19-21, 2015 -- Camp Justis - Powhatan, VA
The Summer campouts always tend to be more low key than normal and this month's was no exception. With a bunch of boys out of town on the High Adventure trip to Seabase down in Florida and a lot of others on family vacations and such, we only had about 25 boys on this trip, including nearly all of our first year scouts.
